Lech Wałęsa – legendary Solidairty leader, and former president of Poland – was asked on Radio Gdańsk about the anniversary of Karol Nawrocki’s inauguration.
“I refuse to answer any questions about this man. I do not consider him president,” Wałęsa replied.
“For me, this is a disgrace, and therefore—to avoid going into details, to avoid having to explain myself, and to avoid getting bogged down in the issues—I refuse to answer any questions about this man.”
The journalist pointed out that Karol Nawrocki is the incumbent president.
“Not for me. I do not recognize him. I would recognize him if the votes were recounted. I would recognize him then, but that hasn’t been done, so it’s fraud.”
“Who is right? Let’s check again, let’s recount the votes, and then we can decide whether to recognize him or not. Until then, I do not recognize him.”
After the presidential election in Poland, numerous objections were raised regarding the announced results. Many polling stations reported false vote counts. Legal proceedings concerning specific polling stations are ongoing, but no nationwide recount has been ordered.
